Happy Things Everywhere

Hi! Right now I am on a plane traveling for work and I’ll be there allllll week. Yay.

This weekend was a great one, naturally, and here’s why:

Friday night the bow tie dog Senator and I had a most excellent run.

I should get a life, right? Saturday was the best but it started off with an AWFUL 9 mile run. I just couldn’t get into it and I think I just had some really tired legs. I think my legs were not ready for a run after the several runs I went on this week.

At mile 7, my friend and I ran by a donut shop and while I’m not normally a donut fan, these aren’t just any kind of donuts. They are made with all real ingredients and they are so fresh. My mouth is watering just thinking about them.

Naturally after the run, I drove my happy self over there once I finished and fetched a whole box of these babies. YES!!!!

Then I got my nails done, went shopping, oh, and also helped execute a surprise birthday party for two of the most awesome ladies in the world.

Catherine and I have been planning their surprise birthday party for quite some time and I’m so happy it all came together on Saturday! Rebekah was wayyyy surprised but the sleuth Jacque had a hunch that something was up. In any case, it was successful!!

Bek’s adorbzzz familia.

The party planning committee!

A couple of the ladies!

Mollz and her man!

Marble cake for Jacque and red velvet for Bek. YUM!!

I hope the two birthday ladies enjoyed their nights! I sure had a fab time!

And yesterday was a dreary day so naturally I didn’t leave the couch. Or do anything at all. Ha, the perfect end to my perfect weekend! Happy Monday everyone!

Do you travel for work? Do you like to travel?

How was your weekend?

Do you like surprises? 🙂

  1. i’m SO GLAD it all worked out! i wasn’t sure what weekend it was going to be (i thought it was next weekend) but i’m happy that the bitch was surprised!! no wonder that whore ignored my email. go give her a slap for me and by that, i obvs mean a face-hump. work travelling sucks balls for real 😦

    • haha yes she was TOTES surprised, thank the heavens! 🙂 yea it’s not terrible but i am SO TIRED i can’t moveeeeeeeeee

  2. I really kind of hope my job involves some travel, but I am also a homebody so I wouldn’t want to be going away all the time. Your weekend really does sound awesome minus a not-so-great long run. But you got it done and that’s what counts! Happy Monday pretty lady 🙂

  3. Still working on the whole job thing…lol. So now I travel for my not job haha. That picture of the faces is too much. And basically a representation of my life

  4. Love this!! What a great friend you are! I like surprises, but like your friend I usually can tell when something is going to happen haha. And yay for those donuts!! I’m a donut fiend, I definitely have to keep my distance from them because I have a very hard time saying no. Those were seriously deserved after a hard run! And BOO for traveling again!! Hopefully this week flies by for you!

    • I know – you’re like the donut hole queen! 🙂 Thanks girl, I’m hoping so too. Though, this time, I’m much less busy than last time, THANKFULLY!

  5. So cute – you’re such a good friend for planning a joint surprise. With two cakes! I love surprises – probably too much. And I get what you mean – I’m not a big donut person (my sweet tooth is used primarily on cookies and ice cream) but those look pretty good!
Safe travels. Wish we had gotten to meet up while you were here.

    • Cookies are always for the win! 🙂 Haha, next time girly! Or just come run a race in ATL! We seem to have the exact same half PR’s. 🙂

  6. Omg you guys are the best friends ever! A surprise bday party AND they each got their own favorite cake?? You and Heather’s hubby Aaron need to give someone up here some pointers come September haha. I hate those runs where your legs never feel warmed up/only feel tired the whole time. Those are the ones where every mile lasts forever, and I’m counting them down to be done. Sorry Saturday’s run was like that, but I love that you went and got donuts after. I’m not a huge donut fan, either, but those look and sound amazing!! Safe travels this week 🙂

    • Haha, cake is the most important part!!! I had some of both! 🙂 Yes that’s exactly how I felt… What can you do though, it just makes the good ones all the more better! Thanks girly, I cannot wait til I have some down time without travel! AGH!

  7. such a fun wknd! have fun traveling for work. i unfortunately do not, but my dream job would be a travel writer and traveling is like my #1 passion everrrr. along with writing and running, so i have 3 #1 passions ever. my wknd was fabbb — ran the Brooklyn Half and got a PR, so i was stoked. have a great day!

    • I SAW THAT!! CONGRATS GIRL! that’s rockstar status! I would have been there to cheer you on if I lived up there! LOL

  8. Real real cute post girl. Your little boy is a princess. And who is that ugly bitch in black??…You’re literally the best friend in the entire world and you did such an amazing job pulling that party off. I had no idea and still had only a slight suspicion after Jax said something. Thank you so so so effing much for real. And my bear knows me so well to get me a red velvet cake. You’re so thoughtful to put so much time and effort into planning that and getting all the people I love together to come celebrate with us. Thank you bird bear bean bath piglet nut sack bat breath. I love you.

  9. I’ve had 2 surprise parties thrown for me and I knew about them before because no one can fool me! You and your friends all look sasstastic. I think I’d fit right in. Except for Beks…JK happy birthday ya fool!

  10. At least a crappy 9 miler ended with donuts! Those look so freakin’ good.
The party looked like a success and all of you ladies were stunning, per usual. 🙂
I don’t travel for work. I just sit in a room without windows from 8-5, Mon-Fri, dreaming of what the sun feels like. Sometimes I think traveling for work would be a lot more exciting but I know it can be stressful too. I think we just need to get paid to travel for fun.
I hope you have a safe and fun trip, love!!

    • Haha, normally I do NOT travel but lately I have been and it’s totally the most draining thing! 😦 I love to see new places but I am certainly struggling with that whole routine and sleep thing. Thanks Sarah! 🙂

  11. It looks like you had a great weekend! I don’t know if I have ever had a surprise party thrown for me or not, I’ve had A LOT of birthdays.. 😉 Those donuts look so delicious! I am a sucker for donuts even though I know they are nothing but a huge sugar and fat bomb, but a little splurge never hurt nobody

  12. Planning surprise parties are always the best, nothing is better than the look on their face when they walk in 🙂

    • Haha agreed but these two ladies hardly had any reaction…. ugh! i wish I could have told them to act a bit more! 🙂 lol

  13. I think traveling for work would be legit fun. I don’t do that tough…I stay in one spot making crack. Awesome job on the runs, I am so proud of you for refueling with sugar after, you know I approve.

    • haha, well, it’s fun – but it’s also very draining. I miss my routine, you know? 🙂 haha we’re on it!!

  14. I am the worst wtih surprises…can’t keep em and always want to find them out! And good call on the cake choices…both look/sound delish!

  15. Haha your GIF of The Office totally brought back hours upon hours of lazy binge watching. I love it.

I also love seeing all the fun your friends had for their surprise party! I always say I hate surprises but these are the good kind. 🙂

PS: So jealous that you got to meet Charlotte! We need to petition to bring her blog back.

  16. Love the Senator’s bow tie! I try to put cute attire like that on my dog and she freaks out until she rips it or it comes off haha. What a brat right?

Totally agree with you on the donuts. Once in awhile I can totally go for a donut. They look delish!

Speak your mind!
