It’s Marathon Week!!

Welp! This Saturday is it! My third marathon! I can’t wait!!! This week will be filled with nerves, excitement and mental preparation! I’ll be hydrating like crazy all week long and remaining on my best behavior! 🙂 WOO! CAN.NOT.WAIT! << I mostly can’t wait because I don’t love running in this heat that’s rapidly approaching and as soon as the marathon is over, I won’t need to run outside if I don’t want to! 🙂

So backing up a bit… This weekend was filled with lots of food and lots of activities, per the usual. Saturday morning at 5:30 am, I met up with a friend for a 10 mile run. It was POURING but we did it anyway! We saw tons of deer along the trail which was totally adorable.

This is one of my favorite places to run because it’s full of rolling hills and is so majestic.

Right after I finished that, I met up with Mollz and some others with my man for a 5K in downtown.

And by then, I was starved, so naturally, I loaded up!

After resting up and running errands, my boyfriend and I went out to celebrate a special occasion and we absolutely indulged in an awesome dinner!

Yesterday was spent with more indulgences – a la Easter style! There were delicious treats everywhere and this girl didn’t hold back #yolo

Double Races

FRIDAY!!!

Like the total dummy that I always am, I signed up for two races this weekend! But don’t worry, it’s under control. 🙂 I know it’s a huge concern for everyone.

The first race is a 5K with my boyfriend, best friend and her boyfriend and it’s like the total opposite of what I would do on my own BUT my three people all LOVE this idea: a 5K followed by unlimited bacon at the end. Wow. Hello, sweet Bacon Chase!!

Literally, when Mollie and I went on a cruise this past summer with Rebekah, she ate #allthebacon.

And for the vegetarian girl, THAT’S ME, there are bloody mary’s. 🙂

Clearly I’m excited. I used to do 5K’s like, ALL THE TIME last year but they have been less of a priority this year so far. I cannot wait to prance around with my favorite people on Saturday morning. We’ve been talking about this race since I saw it on Facebook (#ashamedistillusethat) a few months ago.

The best part – it doesn’t start til 10 AM. Let’s hope I don’t oversleep this time – like I did for my last 5K. Whoops. #Molliewouldkillme

I love that races are all for good causes, and this one is for St. Jude. That’s a damn good cause if you ask me.

And after this awesomely fun race, I have a legitimate and official half marathon on Sunday. It’s the same race I ran my first full marathon (<<very embarrassing post about my first marathon) on last year and I will never do the full again. BUT, the half should be fun and I’ll be running with my amazing running bestie! #cantstop #wontstop #loveit #georgiamarathon #cantwait

We’ve been properly preparing for this half and I am more than thrilled 13 is the mileage on my agenda for this weekend. My legs have been less than thrilled with me after my 20 miler. It’s been all about swimming and yoga this week for me. Mollie and I have been all about the yoga – specifically, the hot yoga. WOO!

Getting Amped.

What gets you guys going? I mean, what gets you excited about life? I could spew off a few things, definitely, but something silly happened yesterday.

I was talking with a cute girl friend of mine about doing a half marathon together in January and I was literally jumping in and out of my seat at the prospect of a half marathon with her. I don’t know why I was stoked, but I just felt such a giddy feeling in my bones. Running is definitely a passion of mine, but never have I been THIS excited and pumped up about the thought of a half marathon. I guess in the middle of marathon training, a 13.1 race sounds like a breeze.

We’ll see how hard I eat those words come January if we sign up for this race. 🙂 Just a random little thought I felt like sharing. 🙂

In any case, my running excitement better stick around for the weekend – I have my last long run planned for it and I need all the hyper active adrenaline I can get! Monday night I enjoyed a 5K with my lovely bestie Mollie and I finally joined the shoes with color club! Though, mine are certainly not as impressive as hers. 🙂

Here I was, an innocent bystander to my roommate’s thoughtfulness in bringing this home for me! I immediately dug in with a spoon and she happily joined.

Getting Back After “IT”!

I took a lot of time off from exercise whilst out of town and combine that with lots of good food that I don’t normally consume – I’m certainly feeling a bit out of whack. I don’t follow any sort of diet (other than no meat), but when my routine gets funky, so does my body. I’ll leave it at that. So this week I’ve been getting back at it with working out and eating a bit more regularly – for me. 🙂

Mollie came over on Monday and joined me for a 5K. We wanted to do 4 miles, but my calves were not having it after 18 miles on Sunday. I can forgive them, I GUESSSSSS.

My dog looks incredibly creepy. That’s pretty typical though. 🙂 We made some s’ghetti squash afterward and it was just ON POINT. SO AMAZING.

And last night, I made up this belligerent 25 minute workout on the spot and kicked myself afterward for thinking it’d be a breeze. Um, no.

I was so gross afterward and it was so good! My poor workout buddies, however, were not so thrilled with this workout. Haha, sorry Jerm! #hashtag #fail! In case anyone cares about this inside joke, I’m learning how to use Twitter and I am not so smart at it yet. Small steps at a time with social media for me, okay? Thanks. I would suggest following me on here but um, I’m boring and probably will stay that way. It’s too much for me to handle.

Anyway, it was a cute workout and night overall with some of my favorite people!

And another fun thing from this week? Rebekah made some paleo approved donuts and they were stellar. Seriously. I don’t love a lot of the paleo baked goods because I find them to be too ‘heavy’ but these were AMAZING.

And my last cute thing for today – my boyfriend brought these over after I had a bad day. He is so sweet and always tries to cheer me up when I’m having a stressful day – he always succeeds! 🙂
